Fan Yang is a visual storyteller and film student currently based in London.
His friends call him Fan. He was born in Jingzhou, a small city near Wuhan. Until the age of 17, his life was filled with six days a week of school, studying subjects like Chinese, math, English, physics, chemistry and biology. His limited spare time (and some lecture time too) was mostly spent on films, novels, and computer games.
In 2019, at the age of 19, he came to the UK to study Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Leeds, bringing with him the hopes and expectations of his family. Four years of study earned him a Bachelor of Science degree—and helped him realise that what he truly loved wasn't algorithms, but film.
In the autumn of 2023, he was admitted to the MA Ethnographic and Documentary Film (Practical) course at University College London, beginning an exciting and challenging journey into filmmaking from scratch. At the end of his first term, he received his very first camera—a Panasonic S1H—thanks to the generous support of his parents. He later graduated with Merit and obtained his Master’s degree.
Fan now works as a freelance photographer and filmmaker in London. He is skilled in both shooting and editing, and is eager to work on projects related to advertising, short-form marketing videos, and still photography.
杨帆是一位现居伦敦的影像创作者和电影学生。
朋友们都叫他“帆”，他出生在湖北荆州——一座毗邻武汉的小城。在17岁之前，他的生活几乎被每周六天的语数外理化生等学校课程填满。为数不多的闲暇时间（以及有些上课时间）他则都花在了电影、小说和电脑游戏上。
2019年，19岁的他带着家人的期待前往英国利兹大学，攻读计算机科学与人工智能。四年的学习让他获得了理学学士学位，也让他意识到，真正让他心动的，其实是电影。
2023年秋天，他被伦敦大学学院的民族志与纪录片（实践）硕士项目录取，开始了充满挑战却又精彩的零基础电影学习之旅。在第一学期结束时，他得到了人生中的第一台相机—松下S1H，由父母赞助购买。然后，他以Merit的成绩顺利毕业，获得了硕士文凭。
目前，杨帆作为自由影像创作者活跃在伦敦。他擅长拍摄、剪辑，渴望从事广告、短视频营销、摄影等相关工作。
